No. EIP Cards issued for the first or second round of Economic Impact Payments are not being reloaded. If you received EIP Cards for round one or round two stimulus payments, they all have separate balances, and you should keep those earlier EIP Cards until the balance for each EIP Card reaches zero.
How do I activate my EIP Card? (updated March 30, 2021)Call 1.800.240.8100. During activation, you will be asked to input your Card Number, last 6-digits of your social security number and the 3-digit security code from the back of your Card. You could be asked to further validate your identity by providing, at minimum, your name and address and answer identity verification questions.
You will also be asked to create a 4-digit PIN required for ATM transactions, request automated assistance and to hear your balance. For your Account security, do not use personal information as your PIN. For Cards with more than one name, only the primary Cardholder (listed first on the Card) may activate the Card.
How can I transfer the funds from my EIP Card to my bank account? (updated March 17, 2021)There are multiple ways to transfer the funds 1 from your EIP Card to an existing bank account at no cost to you. You will need the Routing and Account number for your bank account to complete the transfer.

How do I obtain a replacement EIP Card? (updated March 30, 2021)If your Card is discarded or destroyed, it is important that you call Customer Service at 1.800.240.8100 immediately and choose the option for assistance with a replacement, reissue, lost, or stolen Card.

I received a notice to activate my EIP Card, but I do not have a Card, what should I do? (updated March 30, 2021)
If you haven’t received your EIP Card, or if you may have accidentally thrown it away, please call Customer Service at 1.800.240.8100 and choose the option for assistance with a replacement, reissue, lost, or stolen Card.

I moved and never received my EIP Card. How can I get access to the funds?If you recently moved and never received your Economic Impact Payment Card, please call Customer Service at 1-800-240-8100. We are not able to update your address and reissue your Card, but we can cancel your Card so you can claim the recovery rebate credit, if eligible, when filing your Federal Income Tax Return with the IRS.

My EIP Card has expired. What do I do?Note: Cards expire on the last day of the month that is stamped on the card. For example, 05/23 means the card will expire on May 31, 2023, and will not be able to be used on June 1, 2023.
Overview What is the Economic Impact Payment Card? (updated March 17, 2021)The Economic Impact Payment (EIP) Card is a prepaid debit card distributed to eligible recipients that contains the first round of Economic Impact Payments under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), the second round of Economic Impact Payments under the COVID-related Tax Relief Act of 2020 or the third round of Economic Impact Payments under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 that will begin mailing the week of March 22, 2021.

Will EIP Cards be used for the third round Economic Impact Payments? (updated March 17, 2021)Yes. How will I receive my EIP Card?Your EIP Card will be mailed to you at the most recent mailing address filed with the IRS.
How will I recognize my EIP Card? (updated January 4, 2021)Your EIP Card will arrive in a white envelope that prominently displays the U.S. Treasury seal and includes “Economic Impact Payment Card” in the return address. The envelope also states that it contains “Important information about your Economic Impact Payment.” The Visa ® name will appear on the front of the Card; the back of the Card has the name of the issuing bank, Pathward, N.A. Information included with the Card will explain that the Card is your EIP Card.
Why did I receive an EIP Card?You received an EIP Card because you are eligible for an Economic Impact Payment and the IRS did not have your bank account information. The EIP Card allows you to quickly access your Economic Impact Payment.
How was my Economic Impact Payment amount calculated?The dollar amount of the funds deposited on to your EIP Card was calculated by the IRS. If you have further questions regarding the calculation, click here to visit the Economic Impact Payment Information Center for more information.

If you are eligible to receive a third round payment, the form of payment for the third mailed Economic Impact Payment may be different than for the first or second mailed Economic Impact Payment. Some people who received a paper check previously might receive a debit card this time, and some people who received a debit card previously may receive a paper check.
What if I never received my full Economic Impact Payment? (updated March 17, 2021)If you didn’t get any payments or got less than the full amounts, you may qualify for the Recovery Rebate Credit on your 2020 tax return. For more information, please see the Recovery Rebate Credit section on IRS.gov.

We take the privacy and confidentiality of our Card recipients very seriously. There are numerous federal and state regulations in place to protect consumers and safeguard your information, including the Right to Financial Privacy Act, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and more. The EIP Card program complies with all current requirements, and under no circumstances do we sell cardholder information to third parties. Additionally, the EIP Card is sponsored by the U.S. Treasury Department under requirements that prohibit us from using or disclosing, for any commercial purpose, any confidential information we receive in connection with the program including your personal information.

I received a message that my phone number was blocked when I called 1.800.240.8100. What can I do? (updated February 2, 2021)
EIP Card Customer Service is unable to address phone calls from blocked telephone numbers, which could be caused by a setting with your carrier or on your mobile phone. You may change this setting with your carrier or on your mobile phone. Or, you may call us back from an unblocked number.

Can I use my EIP Card to make purchases online?Yes, you can use your Card to make purchases if the merchant’s website accepts Visa Debit Card payments. You will need to enter your EIP Card information: 16-digit card number, expiration date and 3-digit code from the Card back. Make sure you have used the correct billing address associated with your Card account. To review or change your billing address, log in to your Card account online at EIPCard.com and click on My Profile. For Cards with more than one name, the primary Cardholder name (listed first on the Card) may be required to complete the online purchase.

Can I use my EIP Card to buy groceries and make other purchases at stores?Yes, you can use your Card to make purchases at stores accepting Visa Debit Cards. Once you are ready to pay: Insert your Card into the card reader or present your Card and follow the prompts on the screen. You can choose to sign for the transaction or enter your 4-digit PIN. The process to make purchases may vary by merchant. You can get cash back at participating merchants when entering your 4-digit PIN for purchases.

How do I buy gas with the EIP Card? 1To purchase gas using your EIP Card, you should give your Card to the attendant to prepay for gas in order to avoid a pre-authorization. As with most debit cards, if you pay at the pump, merchants will pre-authorize your purchase, which temporarily puts a hold on your Card balance that could be greater than the transaction amount. Once processed, the money will be released, and your balance will be adjusted. Pre-authorized funds may take up to 7 business days to be released back to your Card account balance.
Can I use my EIP Card to withdraw cash at an ATM? You will need to enter your Card information as directed by your landlord or mortgage company to complete your transaction. What is a Money Network Check?Instead of purchasing money orders to pay bills, rent or make other payments, you can use a Money Network Check to make these payments with the funds in your Card Account. You can also write a Check and cash it surcharge-free at participating check cashing locations.

How do I get Money Network Checks?To request Checks, please call Customer Service at 1.800.240.8100.
How do I write a Money Network Check?Each time you write a Money Network Check you should check your balance by logging in online at EIPCard.com to ensure you can cover the Check amount. Write today's date and the dollar amount on the Check. Write a name in PAY TO THE ORDER OF. Call the number on the back of your Card to access your Account and select the Money Network Check option. Enter the CHECK NUMBER and the DIGIT, then enter the amount you wrote on the Check without the decimal point and press '#'. Write the ISSUER NUMBER and TRANSACTION NUMBER provided by the automated phone system. Your finished Check's amount will be deducted immediately from your Account.
Can I use my EIP Card to make recurring payments?Yes, you can use your Card for recurring bill payments; however, you must ensure you have sufficient funds to cover the entire bill. If you have insufficient funds, then your payment may be declined or partially authorized. To complete the purchase, you need to either use another form of payment or attempt a transaction equal to or less than the available balance of the Card account.
